After recent rumors that Cataclysm had been pushed back into early 2011, Blizzard today announced via press release that World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, the third expansion in the worlds most popular MMORPG will be hitting store shelves December 7, 2010 for PC and Mac.
Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard calls the latest expansion “the best content we’ve ever created for World of Warcraft. It’s not just an expansion but a re-creation of much of the original Azeroth, complete with epic new high-level adventures for current players and a redesigned leveling experience for those just starting out.”
The expansion will retail for $39.99 in stores, as well as a digital download via the Blizzard store. Additionally, the collectors edition (pictured above)will retail in stores only for $79.99, and will include the following:
